

Eugene “Gene” Dusing, 84, of Rockford, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2015. Born in Dixon, IL on February 22, 1931. Son of Stanley and Blanche (Green) Dusing. Served in the United States Army and was part of the 11th Airborne Parachute Maintenance Quartermaster Company. He married Mary Iaria in April of 1964. She predeceased him on November 30, 2002. Gene had a career as a Federal Bank Examiner for the US Government. Member of the American Legion. Gene had a great love for his family and had a passion for Collecting Carnival Glass and Antiques.
Survived by children; Lee (Lynn) Dusing, Curt Dusing, Kaye (Wade) Ohman, Step-son Michael Romeo; grandchildren; Josh Dusing, Jared Dusing, Candy (Seth) Kapral, Leah Dusing, Curtie (Jessica)Dusing II, Wade Ohman Jr, David (Britnee) Ohman; step grandchildren; Jennifer (Shannon) Schulz, and Michelle (Tavares) Moore.
Predeceased by parents; son Johnny Dusing; daughter-in-law Marsha Dusing and Crysann Romeo; brothers Waynard, Marlo, Donald “Tommy”; sister, Mable Dusing and half-sister Margaret Strow. Family would like to extend very special thanks for the loving care of Nurse Jenny.
Funeral Service Tuesday, November 17, 2015, 10 a.m. at Sunset Funeral Home, 8860 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park, IL . Visitation on Tuesday at 9 a.m. till the time of service. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorials to American Legion, 1011 S Alpine Rd, Rockford, IL 61108.
