

Evelyn J. Fridh, 90, of Loves Park passed away peacefully Thursday, January 22, 2015 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 30, 1924, in Sterling, CO, to DeForest and Nora (Partenheimer) McCord.
She went on to marry the love of her life Melvin J. Fridh in 1945 in Rockford.
Evelyn worked for Public Service Company and faithfully volunteered for the Red Cross during WWII.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, as well as the best friend a person could have. She was compassionate, always put others first, and had a smile that would light up a room. Evelyn enjoyed cooking and gardening, but was happiest when spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Steven Fridh, Michael (Jan) Fridh, Susan Moris; son-in-law, Charles Gladson; grandchildren, Steven (Kyla) Fridh Jr., Kyle (Jackie) Fridh, Nicole (Matt Stabile) Fridh, Brandon (Annie) Fridh, Alecia (Tyrone Hymon) Bennett, Derek Johnson, and Kristina Moris; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Kyleigh, Illiana, Evelyn, and Tyler.
Predeceased by her husband; daughter, Kathy Gladson; parents; and brother, Richard McCord.
