Floyd J. Heim, 86, of Loves Park, IL, passed away Thursday evening, February 19, 2026. He was born February 14, 1940 in Galena, IL, the son of Clarence and Irene (Reitz) Heim. Floyd was employed by Barber Colman for over 40 years prior to retiring. He married Sandra Hardy in July 1982. Together with Sandra, they enjoyed camping and traveling through all 50 states. Floyd loved riding his Harley. He enjoyed being on his houseboat on the Mississippi River. Floyd enjoyed causing mischief and being a "PITA".
Floyd is survived by his step-son, Raymond Chastain, siblings, Carol (Ronald) DuBord, Jerry Heim, Gloria (Mike) Springer, Clarene Edmonds and Maria (Jim) Eppel; best friend, Greg Wheeler; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sandra, siblings, Clyde Heim and Janet (Lee) Callahan, brother-in-law, Greg Edmonds.
A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with a funeral service to begin at 2:00 p.m. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
