Frances Ann Morrison

Frances “Fran” A. Morrison, 92, of Machesney Park, Illinois, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026, at home. Fran was born on June 30, 1934, to Harold and Hulda Meehan. On September 6, 1952, Fran married the love of her life, James “Jim” Morrison, in Rockford.

After a turbulent childhood, Fran wanted to make a difference. In addition to raising two of her own children, she made the decision to become a foster mother. In 18 years, she touched the lives of 92 children. Fran was always willing to help anyone in need. Her family meant the absolute world to her, and it was important to her to stay connected and involved in everyone’s lives.

Fran enjoyed decorating any chance she had, especially after finding treasures at a garage sale. She especially loved helping family members or friends decorate. She also enjoyed listening and singing country music, especially at the Loves Park VFW post some years ago.

Fran is survived by her children, William (Patricia) Morrison and Debra (Bill) Sixty; grandchildren, Amy, Brad, and Stephanie; great-grandchildren, Colin, Lauren and Tripp; siblings, Harold and Vera; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; parents, Harold and Hulda; siblings, Don, Marjorie, Dorothy, Roy and Florence.
