Frederick Armstrong

Freddie was born October 10, 1957 in St. Charles, IL to Mae and Fred Armstrong Jr., and was a proud graduate of the Jefferson High School Class of ‘75. He worked in food and beverage distribution at Hayes Distributing and, most recently, Martin Bros, relishing the opportunities both provided to meet and talk to new people, always stealing any moment he could to make someone laugh. He was charisma personified - collecting friends with a magpie-like efficiency, as his many friends from his years working at The Old Still can attest. He loved entertaining and playing music, performing with various bands around the state line throughout his life and often participating in musical arrangements at church. More than anything, he loved his family and cherished every moment he could get with his children and grandchildren.

Freddie is survived by his siblings Linda Wilkinson and John Armstrong; his children Kristin, Ariel, and Rick; and his grandchildren Delilah and Lucas.

A visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Monday, April 10 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115. A service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, April 11 at Christ United Methodist Church, 4509 Highcrest Rd, to be followed by his burial and a luncheon at Sunset Funeral Home.
