George T. Adams

George T. Adams, Sr., 91, of Machesney Park, IL, passed away, Thursday evening, May 12, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 12, 1930 in Athens, WI, the son of Frank and Agnes (Fink) Adams. George proudly served in the United States Army in the 82nd Airborne Division. He married the love of his life, Betty Fellbaum, on April 13, 1953; she preceded him in death on October 14, 2021. George was employed by the Chrysler Corporation for 27 years, where he was a member of the UAW Local 1268. He was a member of Saint Mark’s Lutheran Church. George had a passion for gardening, doing puzzles and playing bingo. He was an avid hunter and liked going fishing as well. George enjoyed going for long drives. Most of all, George loved spending time with his family. George is loved and missed by his children, Debra (Michael) Hockmuth and George (Lily) Adams, Jr.; grandchildren, Gregory, Kimberly, Mason, Kendra, Nathon, Jessica, Deanna, Sara and David; ten great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty; and siblings, Betty, Rudy, Loretta, Dorothy, Marie, Florence, Frank, Jr., Gerald, Bernard and Richard. A funeral service with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
