

Gerald "Jerry" P. Siemens, age 78, of Pecatonica, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. He was born July 7, 1946 in Freeport, IL, the son of Walter and Violet (Canfield) Siemens. Jerry graduated from Pecatonica High School, class of 1964. He went on to serve in the United States Navy from 1967 to 1969. Jerry attended trade school to become an electrician. He married the love of his life, Susan Meinert on September 6, 1980 in Freeport, IL. Jerry was employed at Rockford Memorial Hospital as the Chief Electrical Engineer until his retirement. He was a devoted and faithful member of First Baptist Church of Pecatonica. Jerry loved serving his church, where he would do missionary work and maintenance for the church property. He adored his three grandchildren, and sugared them up and sent them home when he could. Jerry enjoyed making memories with his beloved grandchildren. He was a known perfectionist and was able to fix anything. Jerry is deeply loved and will be missed.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Susan; children, Jason Siemens and Michael (Kristine) Siemens; beloved grandchildren, Gatlin Siemens, Adleigh Siemens and Cove Siemens; brother, Donald (Linda) Siemens; sister, Rosie Solem; sisters-in-law, Patricia Siemens and Marlene Siemens; sister-in-law, Marsha Plasters; brothers-in-law, Robert (Teresa) Meinert and Richard (Liz) Meinert; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and extended family in the Philippines, the Salvador (Mae) Ambrocio family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Walter and Russell Siemens, sister Mary Catherine, step-brother Richard Horner, niece Crystal Brauer, nephew Todd Siemens, father and mother-in-law, Donald and Beverly Meinert, brothers-in-law Paul Plasters and George Solem, and great-nephew Frankie Lanham.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Freeport Health System, especially Leonard C. Ferguson Cancer Center and Dr. Elgar.
A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, June 30, 2025 at First Baptist Church, 819 Washington St, Pecatonica, IL 61063. A continued visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m., until the time of service, funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at the church with Pastor David Myers officiating. Burial in Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Pecatonica or Pecatonica Ambulance.
