Holly Marie Severson, 44, of Belvidere passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 8, 2018 with family by her side. Holly was born in Rockford on June 15, 1973, the daughter of Sandra (Severson) Kahly and Lyle Severson. She graduated from Belvidere High School, class of 1993. Holly was an avid Chicago Bulls, Cubs and Bears fan. She loved giraffes, animals and her special pug “Maya”. She enjoyed being outdoors, watching sports and in later years watching her favorite show “The Price Is Right” and “Wheel of Fortune”. Holly is loved and will be missed by her mother Sandra; sister Kristy (Agustin) Mastache; brothers Paul (Melissa) Severson and Lyle (Kimberly) Severson; aunt Karen Tate; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and favorite teacher and special friends Linda Cavanaugh, Darlene Tindle, Ashley Ingle, Phyllis Ruiz and Doris Serns. Holly was preceded in death by her father Lyle Severson, grandparents Paul and Wanda Sahlstrom, Harry and Florence Severson; step-father Donald Kahly. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family. A celebration of life will be held for Holly at the Boone County District #2 Fire Station 1777 Henry Luckow Lane in Belvidere from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Saturday, March 17, 2018. Sunset Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Sandy & Family- My sincere sympathies in the passing of Holly. She was an amazing young lady who always had a smile or giggle. I was her DORS nurse for many years and I so enjoyed our visits. I'm so sorry for your loss and just wanted you to know I was thinking of you.

Aunt Holly we will never forget all the good times with you! We will never forget all those times we played cards, monopoly, made you laugh, watched full house with you and all the other wonderful memories we will forever cherish each and everyday.
