

Idalberto Campos, 66 years old of Machesney Park, Illinois, was born in Guantanamo, Cuba, to Amado and Amelia (Laurencio) Campos on May 7, 1956 and passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 He spent 49 wonderful years of marriage with his wife Brenda Campos and was a father to many.
Idalberto was employed for 43 years at Eclipse "honeywell". In his free time he enjoyed spending his time watching baseball and playing cards. He had a passion for muscle cars and was known by his close family and friends for "talking crazy" while telling his colorful stories. Above all, he was happiest spending time with family and friends. He will be dearly loved and missed by all.
He was a man known by many names. At work he was called Poncho, at home Bert, and by cousins Teto, but by any person that said his names, it was said with love. He was loved with infectious energy. When he walked into a room, people wanted to be by his side.
Idalberto is survived by his parents; wife; his son Jason Campos; his grandchildren Amber, Katelynn, Amado, Jaydan, Chase, Annabell, Daniel, and Amelia; his great-grandchildren Charlie, Maellee Mae, and Ellie Mae; sister, Marocha (Campos) Coffee; brothers, David Campos, Tony Jenkins and Richard Jenkins; his best friend Larry Becker "The Geek"; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends from Eclipse. He is preceded in death by his children Daniel Campos and Lisa Campos and his brother, Amado Campos, Jr.
A visitation for Idalberto will be held Sunday, May 7, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park, Illinois 61115. A funeral service will occur Monday, May 8, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
