James Lee Fagan Sr., 72, of Loves Park, passed away at his home on July 28, 2012 surrounded by his loved ones. He fought a courageous battle against cancer and remained dignified until God took him home.

He was born September 29, 1939 in Metropolis, Illinois. He married Carol L. Wetterholm, (his honey) on August 13, 1960. After many years he retired from Tool Form in Rockford. James loved the holidays and spending any minute possible with his granddaughters.

James is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Carol, Daughter; Bonita Lynn Fagan-Wheeler, Son-In-Law; John, granddaughters; Bryssa Lynn and Kessa Ann Wheeler. Son; James L. (Georgina) Fagan Jr., grandson; James L. (Paula) Fagan III, great grandson; Gabriel Fagan, sister; Amanda G. Hughes, Sister-in-Law; Esther (George) Prentice, Nephew; Clark (Tanny) Thompson and several loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother; Emma Fagan, sisters; Alberta Fagan, Charlene Hanvy and Bettie Anderson and one Niece; Debbie Owens.

Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.Friday, August 3, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd. Machesney Park, IL. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to time of Funeral Services at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2012 also at Sunset Funeral Home.
