

James H. Lewis, 84, of Machesney Park, passed away on January 20, at his home surrounded by his family. Born on February 3, 1928 in Chattanooga, TN, he was the son of Laurel and Marie (Chandler) Lewis. He married Marilyn Elmore on December 24, 1948.
James was a United States Navy Veteran who retired from Amerock in 1990 after 19 years of employment.
An avid fisherman, James enjoyed camping, boat rides on the Rock River, and spending time with family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Jimmy (Linda) Lewis, David (Teri) Lewis, Debbie (Dan) Lewis-Burton, and Janet (Jeff) Pond; grandchildren, Christopher, Theresa, James, and Brad Lewis, Lisa Miller, Danny Burton, Tabetha and Zachary Pond; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Jessieb Simko and Linda Staggs and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
