Janet Y. Lighthart

Janet Yvonne Lighthart, 76, of Rockford passed away peacefully Monday, May 11, 2015, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Born July 19, 1938, in Rockford, to Carl and Wilma (Kroll) Voy. She married Reynold W. Lighthart on October 29, 1955 in Rockford.

Janet was a faithful employee for Rockford Greenhouse for 20 years and worked an additional 20 years driving school bus for Gelco and District 205. She enjoyed collecting wind chimes and crocheting, but was happiest when spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband; children, Reynold (Georgia) Lighthart Jr., Dawn Lighthart-Schoenezk, Robert Lighthart, Dianna Lighthart, Sandy Kellaney-Combs, Willie (Lori) Lighthart, Reynold Lighthart III, and Brendon Lighthart; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister, Lenora Nease; and several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her parents; brothers, Roger, Charles, and Butch; and sisters, Loretta and Susan.

Funeral service 10 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2015, at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd., Machesney Park with visitation 9 a.m. until the time of service. Interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be submitted at www.sunsetfhmemgardens.com
