Jay Allen Lindquist

Jay Allen Lindquist, age 62, of Rockford, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024. Jay was born on December 2, 1961 in Rockford, Illinois to Robert and Gayle Lindquist. Jay was a loving son, brother, father, uncle, pawpaw/papaw and friend. Jay worked at Ingersoll Machine Tools as a machinist for 10 years. Jay loved Sundays, the day where he was able to watch his Green Bay Packers play. Jay loved spending time with his family whether it was for holidays, get togethers, or just sitting by a fire.

Jay is survived by his parents, Robert E. and Judith Lindquist; siblings, Robert S. (Karen) Lindquist and Jodi (Zak) Williams; children, Heather Lindquist, Shane Lindquist, Tiffany (Ernest) Patton, Ashlea (Nic) Lindquist, and Brandon (Tera) Higgins; grandchildren, Abbi Lindquist, Jason Lindquist, Jace McKee, and Bella Lindquist; nieces and nephews, Nicole (Bryan), Chase, Destiny (Johnathan), Brittany, Christina, Cody, and Brandon (Phallen); great nieces and nephews, Nikkia, Bryan, Johnathan, Gemma, and Brandon Jr. Jay was preceded in death by his mother Gayle Lindquist; brothers, Lonnie and Kirk Lindquist; sister, Jill Nielson; and daughter, Treena Lindquist; great nephew, Zemaj Bean.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 1pm until the time of Service at 2pm at Sunset Funeral Home (8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park, IL 61115). Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Northern Illinois Hospice Staff and the 7th Floor Medical Staff at Swedish American Hospital and Cancer Center.
