Jeffrey "Jeff" G. Bastian

Jeffrey “Jeff” Gaylen Bastian, age 52, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024. He was born in Rockford, Illinois, on September 5, 1972, to Gaylen and Patricia (Cantwell) Bastian. Jeff started out high school at Jefferson High School and transferred to Stillman Valley High School his Sophomore Year, remaining there until his graduation in 1990.

Jeff was passionate about cooking, was especially fond of hot foods and sauces, and prided himself on the dishes he prepared for others. He enjoyed watching funny TV shows and TikTok videos. Jeff was known to strike up conversations with anyone around him, telling jokes and making people laugh.

Jeff loved Denver, Colorado. When he was in the Rockford area, he longed to be back in Denver. He was employed at Condit Exhibits, where he made many friendships.

Jeffrey is survived by his sister, Cindy (Brad) Thompson, niece Alyssa, nephew Dylan, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gaylen and Patricia Bastian; grandparents, Alfred and Edith Bastian and Elmo and Melsant Cantwell.

A visitation for Jeff will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Kishwaukee Community Presbyterian Church, 8195 N. Kishwaukee Rd, Stillman Valley, IL 61084, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m.
