Jeffrey Pond

Jeffrey D. Pond, 53, of Loves Park, IL, passed away October 14, 2021. He was born on May 8, 1968 in Rockford, IL to Karen and Gearld Pond. Born and raised in Rockford, Jeffrey graduated from Harlem high school. He continued his education and received an Associate’s Degree in Engineering from Morrison Institute of Technology. He worked for Camcar and Acument Global Technologies for many years and most recently became an inspector for Elite Fasteners. Jeffrey was a deeply devoted husband, father, and son. He married the love of his life, Janet, on June 22, 1991. Together they shared 2 children whom he devoted his life to caring for. His favorite hobbies included spending quality time with his family and being a major fan of the Miami Dolphins and Washington Nationals. He spent Sunday nights shooting darts with his friends. He is survived by his wife; Janet Pond, children; Tabetha and Zachary Pond, parents; Gearld and Karen Pond, siblings; Gearld Pond Jr., and Kari (Steve) Tanker, brother in law; David (Teri) Lewis, as well as his nephews; Ty and Noah Tanker, as well as numerous cousins, aunts and uncles, and extended family members whom he loved dearly.

He is predeceased by his grandparents; Edley and Velva Pond, Roland and Florence Demus, and his father in law; James Lewis.

A visitation will be held Tuesday October, 19 between the hours of 5-7pm. At Sunset Funeral Home. Located at 8800 N. Alpine Rd. Machesney Park IL 61115. A funeral service for Jeffrey will be at 10am. Wednesday October, 20 at 10am. At Sunset Funeral Home. Burial to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
