Jesse Carr was a dedicated combat engineer and a diesel technician with a lifelong residence in Rockford, IL. Jesse unexpectedly passed away September 20, 2020 at the age of 26. Jesse was born in Rockford, IL. on April 13th, 1994 to Tamara Wade and Jimmy Carr. He graduated from Auburn High School and went on to serve in active duty as a combat engineer in the United States Army. Upon his return home from service he became a dedicated, hardworking diesel technician and worked installing pools.
Jesse was an amazing son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and best of all, an amazing friend. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, spending time outdoors hiking and riding his bike, and in recent years, motocross national camping trips, kayaking, and tubing trips down the Kishwaukee River with friends and family. Jesse was very bright, intelligent, and had a heart of gold. Jesse was always dependable, extremely smart and motivated. He loved to joke around and make everyone around him smile, sarcasm included.
Jesse is survived by siblings Justin Leatherby and sister-in-law Chelsea Leatherby, sister Samantha Johannes and brother-in-law Jeremy Johannes, mother Tamara Carr, grandmothers Sandra Wickham, Connie Cardey, and Patricia Carr. He is also survived by his niece Madison Leatherby, and nephews Lane and Mason Johannes. His aunts and uncles are Tabitha Pruitt and Chris Eccles, Shawn and Megan Pruitt, Damien Walsh, Amanda and Mike Bohn, Shawn Wade and Sherrie Owen, Ronald Wade, Sherri Pelley and Brian Arabia. Jesse’s cousins included Skyler Wade,Tristan Wade, Sierra Wade and Corey Jefferson, Sheldon and Toya Wade, Shawn and Jeni Wade, Savannah and Branson Hamilton, Athea Bishop, Brianna and Cain Lander, Cadin Bohn, Austin Pruitt, Preston Pruitt, McKenna Eccles and Bhodi Pruitt. Jesse’s closest friends outside of his family included Johny Morgan, Tyler and Ruth Palmer, and Nicholas Echevarria.
Jesse will be greatly missed, and his life will always be celebrated.
Visitation for Jesse will be Saturday, September 26, 2020 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road in Machesney Park.
