

JOHN H. MOORS, 78 ROCKFORD – John H. Moors, of Rockford died unexpectedly in his home on Saturday, Feb, 11th, 2012. Born Sept. 26, 1933 in Rockford, the son of Rendall and Clara (Hamilton) Moors. He was a 1952 East High School graduate, attended the University of Illinois in Champaign. He later served in the US Army as a drill instructor earning the rank of Second Lieutenant. Worked at Dorhn Transfer for many years before starting his second career and his life’s passion, real estate, in 1981. He won numerous awards at Century 21 Combs before starting his own firm, Moors Realtors. John loved selling real estate and continued to do so for over 30 years, selling his last house just weeks before his passing. He was an active member of his church. Survived by his wife, Marilyn Clifford Moors, daughters Pam Schallhorn and Paula Hughes, sons John and Jerry, and step-daughter Kathy Ressler, all of the Rockford area. Eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and many close friends. A visitation with the family will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park, IL 61115 on Thurs, Feb 16 at 6:00 PM., with a memorial service to follow at 6:30 PM. The reverend Jerry Bolin will be officiating.
