John W. Paap, 64, Rockford, passed away on April 10, 2013. He was born on August 28, 1948 in Dixon, IL to John and Lotilla (Rhodes) Paap. He graduated from Dixon High School and married Karen Bechel on June 28, 1975. John was employed at Sundstrand until his retirement.
He enjoyed NASCAR and watching the St. Louis Cardinals.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; his mother, Lotilla; his sons Jason (Jenny) Paap and Jeremy Paap; and his brothers Jim Paap and Jerry Paap.
He was preceded in death by his Father, John L. Paap.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to OSF Hospice or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
A funeral service will held, 2pm on Monday, April 15, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park. Visitation will be held from 1pm to the time of service. Pastor Wendell Maynard will be officiating. Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
