

John H. Rogers, 86, of Loves Park, Illinois, passed away on Memorial Day, May 26, 2025. John was born to Joseph and Anna Rogers on April 27, 1939, Blanchardville, Wisconsin. John attended vocational school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to become a baker. He was a baker with Kohl’s Bakery in Milwaukee before joining the United States Army in 1961. Upon his return, he rejoined Kohl’s bakery. Soon after, he made the move to Rockford, Illinois, and became a machinist with Rockford Powertrain (formerly known as Rockford Clutch). He spent 30 years there before retirement. During his retirement, he attended Winona School of Photography in the class of 1988. After retirement set in, John decided to stay active by picking a job in the sporting goods department at Walmart for 15 years.
John was a good-hearted and kind man. He loved his family, as they were always his number one priority. He took care of his mother for many years before her passing. John enjoyed going skiing whenever he had the chance. He also especially loved going fishing with his brother, Vic, as well as going to flea markets with him. John even started making custom jewelry to sell on occasion at flea markets. If you knew John, you knew his loyalty to the Green Packers year-round. He loved cheering them on and watching them play.
He is survived by his niece, Joanna Rogers; nephews, Richard Rogers and Russel Rogers; many great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Anna; siblings, Mildred, Nathan and Victor; niece, Robin Rogers; nephew-in-law, Robert Heinz.
