Joseph P Bisbee Sr.

Joseph Peter Bisbee Sr., 88, of Rockford, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018. Born December 7, 1929 in Dodge Center, MN. Son of Elmer Carol and Clara Wilhelmina (Pope) Bisbee. United in marriage to Delores Mae Burns on December 11, 1948. She predeceased him on February 24, 2009. Member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Employed as a retail merchandiser for various stores throughout the area having One Stop Pharmacy be the longest where he retired from in 1995. In his retirement he found great enjoyment in coloring and drawing. He loved to go gambling especially to Diamond Joe’s Casino. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan.

Survived by children, Sherry Jeffers, Terri Oglesby, Joseph (Donna) Bisbee Jr.; grandchildren, Connie (Nate) Lawson, Rex Jeffers Jr., Christopher (Amanda) Oglesby, Carrie McCallum; step-grandchildren, Rachel Pautzke, Karl Pautzke; great-grandchildren, Joshua Lawson, Olivia Lawson, Tori Oglesby, Mackenzie Oglesby, Jackson Oglesby, Kaileigh McCallum, Duncan Oglesby; great-great-grandchildren, Alyson Lightcap. Predeceased by parents, spouse, Delores; great-granddaughter, Taylor Jeffers.

Funeral Service at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 6 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park. Visitation at 1 p.m. until time of service. Burial following in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
