Karen S. Livesay

Karen S. Livesay, 84, of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully holding the hands of family, on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. She was born April 28, 1941 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Hugh and Eunice Greenman. Karen graduated from Swedish American School of Nursing in 1962 with her R.N. She married Manuel "Manny" Livesay on November 24, 1962 in Rockford. Together they shared 57 years of love and memories until Manny's passing in 2019. Karen was devoted to her faith and enjoyed singing in the First Free Evangelical Choir. She loved gardening, bird watching and baking sourdough bread. Most of all, Karen adored her family.

Karen is loved and missed by her daughters, Amy (Sanj) Joshi and Rachel Penney; grandchildren, Kamlen Joshi, Kira Joshi, Kayla Kent, Alissa Wigget and Seth Wigget; several great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Manuel, and sister Kathie.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Alden Debes and Heartland Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.

Private family services were held. In lieu of flowers, donations in Karen's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
