Kathleen Baer

Kathleen (Kay) Mary Hampson Baer 94 of Plattsburg Missouri formerly of Rockford, IL passed away on Wednesday April 5, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born January 4, 1923 in Liverpool, England to Samuel and Kate Hampson, immigrating with her parents, three brothers and two sisters to Chicago, Illinois at the age of four. Married William G. Baer on April 6, 1946, in Chicago, they moved to Rockford, IL in 1955. Bill passed away on April 30, 1999. Bill and Kay were long time members of Mauh-Nah-Tee-See Country Club and Spring Creek Congregational Church. Kay was an avid Cubs fan her entire life.

Survivors include son Curtis (Marsha) Baer of Rockford and daughter Christine (Dale) Hunsburger of Turney, MO.; grandchildren, Erin (Marty) Maynes of Des Moines, IA and Matthew (Michele) Baer of Rockford,IL, great-grandchildren, Caitlin and Madelyn Maynes of Des Moines, IA and Ryleigh and Van Baer of Rockford,IL. She has numerous nephews and nieces in the United States as well as cousins in England. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Healing farewell services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday April 15, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Rd. Machesney Park, IL.
