Kathleen “Kathie” K. Clutter, 79, of Loves Park, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 16, 2024, at her “happy place” at The Wilderness Campground of Montello, Wisconsin. She was born August 4, 1945, in Rockford, Illinois, to Aldo and Inez Tondi. Kathie graduated from West High School in 1963. On January 7, 1983, she married Jim Clutter in Rockford. She was employed with Rockford Health System for 45 years, before retiring in 2012. Kathie loved being retired, giving her the flexibility to travel to Florida in the cold months and spend time with her beloved son, Jeff. She also kept in touch with her friends from Rockford Health System, known as the “Lunch Bunch”. She also had an amazing green thumb, planting flowers and greenery whenever and wherever she had the opportunity. Kathie admired feeding and watching birds, but especially the hummingbirds that would come and visit her.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; son, Jeff (Michele) Burbeck; special fur-baby, Reggie; sisters, Geraldine (John) Cygnor and Phyllis Miltimore; special niece, Terrie Steritt and her family, as well as many other nieces and nephews; siblings-in-law, Candace (George) McMahon, Dan (Margo) Clutter, Camille Irwin, Tim (Akiko) Clutter, and Lyn Carlson; numerous extended family, as well as a countless amount of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Aldo and Inez; brother-in-law, Richard Miltimore.
A memorial gathering for Kathie will take place Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens.
Wherever she is, you know she’s got that beautiful smile on her face.
