Kenneth Larsen, 79, of Rockford, died on August 25, 2010 in his home surrounded by his family. Born August 6, 1931 in Niagara, WI the son of Leif and Hedvig (Carlson) Larsen. Proudly served his county with the U.S. Air Force. Married Donna L. Tarro on February 11, 1955. He was a member of the American Legion Post 1207. Worked at Bartelt Eng, RMT, Fastner Eng and the Rockford Park Dist. Survived by his wife of 55 years, Donna Larsen; daughters, Susan Magnuson, Diane (Joe) Palmeno and Jill (Dan) Thorn; grandchildren, Ray Magnuson, Catie Palmeno, Vicki Coppelman, Jordan and Nate Thorn; great-grandchild, Eli. Predeceased by his parents; son, Tim Larsen; sisters, Betty and Pearl; brothers, Orv and George; In-Laws, Jack and Alice Tarro. Funeral service at 2 pm on Saturday, August 28, 2010 in Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd. Burial in Arlington Cemetery. Visitation 2 hours prior to the service.
