

Larry James Anderson, 82, of Machesney Park, Illinois, joined his Heavenly Father on March 26, 2026. Larry was born on December 22, 1943, in Rockford, to Gerald and Genevieve Anderson. Upon graduating high school, Larry faithfully served his country in the United States Navy. When he returned, he worked briefly with Smith Oil before joining the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 23. On November 8, 1964, Larry married the love of his life, Patricia. Eventually, Larry found a true passion for woodworking and started his businesses Broken Spindle and Norwegian Woods out of his home. His talent received attention from notable entities including Disney. Amongst his diverse skillset, Larry was an avid baker and made some of the best bread you could find. Through the years, he was a dedicated and loyal member of Living Faith Church. His family feels extremely blessed to have had Larry by their side.
Larry is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patricia; sons, Eric Anderson and Scott (Amy) Anderson; grandchildren, Dakota, Logan, Hannah, and Jessikah; great-granddaughter, Kate; brother, Robert Anderson; brother-in-law, Michael Grisanzio, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Genevieve, sister, Sally Grisanzio and sister-in-law, Melody O’Connor Anderson.
A graveside service for Larry will be taking place Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 2:30 PM at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
