LaVerne went to work at Atwood Mobile Products in Rockford as a teenager, following in his father’s footsteps, and spent more than 40 years there. He was a lifelong Chicago Bears fan and a huge Cubs fan. He was an accomplished poker player whose skill at the table earned him some impressive winnings over the years.
He is survived by Tena Sadewater; his children, LaVerne “Jordan” Sadewater III (Kyle Johnson) and Suzanna Smith; his siblings, Sandra (Earl) Owens, Stanley (Vickie) Sadewater and Victor (Janet) Sadewater; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, LaVerne Sr. and Maria Sadewater, and his sister, Mary-Ann Sadewater.
