Lavilla Mae Brown

Lavilla Mae Brown, 95, of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully, Sunday September 26, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 14, 1926 in Plover, WI, the daughter of Jesse and Angeline (Dumprope) Brown. Lavilla married her sweetheart, Walter Brown on September 18, 1950 in New Orleans, LA. She was a faithful member of Rockford United General Baptist Church. Lavilla was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother who enjoyed going out to eat, catalog shopping, cooking and driving her car. She was a very stylish woman who adored her family. Lavilla was the matriarch of our family and watched carefully over her brood.

Lavilla is survived by her children, Barbara (Charles “Buddy”) Beavers, Kristine (Jerry) “Wierschke” Brock, Debbie (Gary) Johnson, Sindy (the late Jim) Goodman, Wally (Jennifer) Brown and Susan (Dino) Palumino; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Lou Woods; special nephews, Tom Brown and Jesse Miles; special niece, Lori Rice; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter, son-in-law Jim Goodman, beloved grandson Ian Brown and numerous siblings.
