

Leila G. Seal, 97, of Rockford passed away on April 5, 2013 at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center. Born on November 22, 1915 in Davis Junction, she was the daughter of Charles and Ada (Pullen) Pahaly. On August 23, 1948, she married Kenneth W. Seal in Rockford.
Leila was a member of Third Presbyterian Church for 84 years, serving in ministry longer than any other member of the church. She participated in the choir for several decades and the Women’s Dorcas Circle.
For many years she helped her husband run Ken’s Market which was located on N. Court Street in Rockford, now known as Pinnon’s Market.
She was a great lover of music who had a beautiful alto voice. Leila enjoyed crafts and traveling the world with her husband whom she was married to for 58 years.
Her survivors include her son, John Seal of Arlington, VA; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, including Bob McCreath and Nancy (Pat) Dorsey.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband, and a son, Roger Seal.

A celebration of Leila’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, at Third Presbyterian Church, 1221 Custer Avenue , Rockford with Dr. Murray Hanson officiating.
