Leon “Nick” D. Nichols, 83, of Dixon passed away peacefully on April 9, 2015 in his home surrounded by his family. Born August 27, 1931 in Jefferson, OH; he was the son of Leon D. and Lora (Moreland) Nichols. He married Janet Michel on January 29, 1972 in Pecatonica.
An avid fisherman, Leon enjoyed hunting, golf, gardening, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Janet Nichols; children, Cathy Nichols, Don (Pam) Nichols, Lora (Mike) Maxson, Russell Nichols, Jody Nichols, Pamela (John) Devereueawax, and Rachel Nichols; grandchildren, Aryssa, Ariana, and Kiara; sister, Clara Dunmier; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; 4 sisters; 2 brothers; great-granddaughter, Amelia Beth.
