Leona Mae Hodges

Leona was born on November 1, 1924 in Chana, IL the daughter of Dewey and Irene (Keckler) Rager. Leona married Raymond Hodges, Jr on June 15, 1946 in Rockford. Leona was a member of First Lutheran Church in Rockford.

Leona is survived by her husband Raymond; son: Terry (Pam) Hodges of Cherry Valley; daughters: Joyce (Bud) DiPuma of Bark River, MI, Valerie (Scott) Stroup of Rockton and Marjorie (Brad) Lindmark of Roscoe; 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Leona was predeceased by her twin brother Leo, brothers Earl and Melvin, sisters Irma and Marge.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Wesley Willows Good Samaritan Fund and First Lutheran Church of Rockford.

A service to celebrate Leona’s life will be 1:30 p.m. on Saturday September 26, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road in Machesney Park with Rev Jane McChesney officiating. Visitation for Leona will be Friday September 25, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
