Leonard L Long Jr., 72, of Rockford passed away on Sunday, August 21, at Swedish American Hospital. Leonard married Peggy Pitner in Rockford, in 1968. He was a member of Cathedral Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing the accordion, and loved his dog Pepe. Leonard is survived by his wife of 43 years, Peggy, a sister, Verna Hicks of MO, and 3 nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 26, at 10 a.m. at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N Alpine Rd. Machesney Park, 61115. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Rev.
