Lila M West

Lila M. West, 75, of Loves Park, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 20, 2011. Born February 13, 1936 in Rockford, the daughter of Delbert and Elvera (Rudin) Roe. Graduated from Harlem High School , class of 1954. Confirmed at First Mission Covenant Church on April 30, 1950. Devoted her life to her family and the Lord, Jesus. Enjoyed life, playing the piano, and being around people. Worked many years as the "friendly cashier" at the Northridge Walmart, her smile will always be remembered. She will be missed by anyone who had the opportunity to have met her. Survived by children Jeff West, Jim and Ruby (Giglio) West, Jack and Lori (Gunn) West, Jolene Goodrich West and Eddie Loos, Jay and Pam (Samples) West, 20 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren; twin brother Lyle M. Roe. of Loves Park; and sister Donna M. Colby of Milwaukee; special niece and nephew Susan and Robert Roe; estranged husband Eugene (Donna) West; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws; many special friends, and acquaintences. Preceded in death mother; father; brother, Dale Roe; and infant sisters, Marie and Maria Roe. Service at 10 a.m. Friday, May 27, in Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd. Machesney Park, with Pastor Carl Henkel of Hope Lutheran Church in Belvidere officiating. Visitation from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 26, in the funeral home.
