Lodena I. Wilt

Lodena I. Wilt, 90, of Cherry Valley, IL, passed away peacefully Thursday morning May 20, 2021. She was born July 4, 1930 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Oral and Lorna (Hedden) Holt. She married Robert E. Wilt on July 2, 1949. Lodena was a long time member of Cherry Valley United Methodist Church, where she participated in the choir and the ladies circle for many years. She enjoyed painting and doing ceramics. Lodena was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother who will truly be missed.

Lodena is survived by her sons, Craig (Susan) Wilt and Scott (Ann) Wilt; grandchildren, Melissa (Josh) Newberry, Jennifer (Garrett Ludtke) Wilt, Laura (Mike) Lind, Erik (Megan Hampson) Zimmerman, Stacy (Devon Jones) Zimmerman and Brody (Taylor Walker) Clinite; 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, daughter Sheri Wilt and brother, Marlin Holt.

Per Lodena’s wishes, there will be no visitation and a private family funeral will take place at Cherry Valley United Methodist Church with a burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
