Lois Rose Sandberg, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, age 86, died peacefully Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at St. Anthony OSF. She was born in Rockford, IL on May 11, 1932, to John and Rose (Rollins) Runberg. She married Robert L. Sandberg in Rockford, IL on September 21, 1951. He preceded her in death on October 24, 1992.
She is survived by her sister Joan (Erickson) and brother Robert Runberg; her children, David (Deborah) Sandberg of Rockford, IL, Brian (Beverly) Sandberg of Westminister, CO, and Robert (Julie) Sandberg of Winnebago, IL; grandchildren, Nathan (Naomi) Wilcox, Natasha Sandberg, Elizabeth Stannard, Brandon (Diana) Sandberg, Brooke Sandberg, Austin Sandberg, Katelyn Sandberg, Erika (Robert) Winston, Dan (Katheryn) Sandberg, Kevin Sandberg; 5 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, son; John, 2 sisters; Rosalie and Mary Lou, and 2 brothers; Roger and Bill.
