

Lorraine E. Cosler passed away on May 2, 2025 after a 2-year battle with metastatic Renal Cancer. She was the daughter of Frances and Erwin Raddatz of Beloit, WI. After graduating with honors from Beloit Memorial High School, she began working at McNeanys in Beloit. She then accepted an accounting position at Besly-Welles (later Bendix Cutting Tools Division) in South Beloit and later became Credit Manager for both the Cutting Tools and Disc Grinder Divisions of Bendix.
Lorraine was a deeply caring mother to her daughter Robyn (Pete) Vanderham, a devoted wife to husband Ron and Grandma “Rain” to grandchildren Emily, Maddie, TJ and Jillian (Tom and Sandi Cosler) and Kate and Grace (Jim and Jan Cosler). Lorraine is also survived by brothers Carl Raddatz (Linda) and Bob (Rita) Raddatz; nieces Debbie Borgensen, Cathy (Rick) Gulden and Patricia Lake; nephew Jeff (Nancy) Raddatz and several great nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; her sister Ann Hoadley and Ann’s husband Bob; Sister-in-Law Bernice Raddatz; niece Linda Crook and Nephews-in -Law George Borgesen, Gary Lake and Tommy Watkins.
Lorraine was a real competitor and won the Wisconsin State Indoor Archery Championship in the early 1970’s. She was also an avid golfer and loved playing in the 18-hole League at
Rockford Country Club of which she was President for 3 years. She often represented RCC in “Team” play against other clubs in the area.
Her go-to spot in the winter was Arizona where she could keep her golf game sharp, do some hiking and enjoy dinners on the outside patios of her favorite restaurants.
She will be greatly missed by many friends in both Beloit and Rockford. A special thanks to Northern Illinois Hospice and Assisting Hands Home Care for the helpful, gentle and loving care given to Lorraine.
A celebration of life will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park on Tuesday May 20, 2025 at 11:00am. Visitors are welcome from 9:00-11:00. In lieu of flowers, Lorraine would love and appreciate your contributions to either St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Samaritan’s Purse.
