

Louis E. Burger Jr., 72, of Rockford, loving husband, father, brother and grandfather went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 with family by his side. Born June 22, 1938 in South Beloit, IL to Clementine (Bigelow) Burger and Louis E. Burger Sr. Married Betty L. Taylor on December 18, 1971. Served in the U.S. Army. Member of Maywood Evangelical Free Church in Rockford. He served as an usher and Trustee. Member of Blackhawk Farms Raceway. He enjoyed car racing, camping, traveling, A&W Root Beer, watching The Rifleman and This Old House and most of all he enjoyed his family, especially spending time with his five grandchildren. He worked as a Building Engineer for the Rockford Board of Education. He was known by all as “Mr. Louie”. He retired after 22 years. Survived by his wife Betty Burger; daughters, Sharlotte (Bret) Bruce and Renae Yeager both of Rockford; grandchildren, Michael 16, Kaitlyn 14, Victoria 12, Cierra 11, and Anastasia 7; siblings, Charles (Janice) Burger, George (Ruth) Burger, Clementine (Philip) Quandt, John (Claudette) Burger and Earl Burger; several nieces and nephews and many close friends. Predeceased by his parents.
