Margaret Elizabeth (Pearce) Alloway, 88, of Poplar Grove passed away on Monday, February 21, 2022. Margaret was born on January 30, 1934 to Russell and Angeline (Conti) Pearce in Rockford. She married Robert Alloway on July 29, 1958 in Oregon, MO. He preceded her in death on July 14, 2006. Margaret was a graduate of Rockford West High School class of 1953. She was a member of Poplar Grove United Methodist Church, also member of the PG United Methodist Women. Margaret was a lifetime member of Rockford Harmony Club Ladies Auxiliary and also a member of the Plug & Pellet Sportsman Club. She also belonged to the Candlewick Lake Flames and Candlewick Wednesday Card Group. She loved going out to dinner and plays with her Candlewick Lake friends. She also went many times to Canada with family and went on a lot of trips with Candlewick Lake Flames. Margaret was retired from APV Rockford (Anderson Bros.) and Barnes International as a Cost Analyst.
Margaret is survived by her children: (twins) Mark (Sherry) Alloway and Glenda (Barry) Blough; grandchildren Shane (Alyssa) Alloway, Ashley Alloway, Ryan Blough (Fiancé Britnea Sage) and Evan Blough; sister-in-law Marjorie Alloway; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Margaret will be Monday, February 28, 2022 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road in Machesney Park; service to celebrate Margaret’s life will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Luncheon will follow at Poplar Grove United Methodist Church 105 E. Grove Street in Poplar Grove, IL.
