

Marilyn Jean (Diehl) Trollop, 82, of Loves Park passed away Monday, July 08, 2013, in her home, surrounded by her family. Born, June 14, 1931, in Rockford, the proud daughter of Roy and Persis (Mcninch) Diehl.
Marilyn graduated from East High School in 1950, and went on to marry the love of her life, Orville Trollop, on June 11, 1955. She retired from Woodward Governor in 1988, after 20 years of service. Marilyn thoroughly enjoyed touring the U.S. on their Honda Goldwing.
She is survived by her husband, Orville E. Trollop; sons, Mark (Cyndi) Trollop of Roscoe, David (Jill) Trollop of Roscoe; daughter, Valerie (Sam) Ellman of Rockford; Grandchildren, Bryan Trollop, Patrick Trollop, Colin Trollop, Brenden Burvis, Haylea Moorman, Jake Ellman, and Bailey Ellman; Great-Grandchildren, Gabriella, Will, and Brody.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Dwight and Charles.
Funeral service 10a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park with Pastor Ron Meyer officiating. Visitation 9a.m. till the time of service. Interment will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations will be made to Alzheimers Association, 1111 S. Alpine Rd, suite 307, Rockford, IL, 61108.
