Marjorie Gentry, 67, of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully, Monday evening, July 23, 2018 at Alma Nelson Debes. She was born May 16, 1951 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Vernice Gentry. Marge graduated from Illinois State University with a master’s in psychology. Marge was employed by the Northern Illinois Library Processing Center for many years, as well as Pioneer Life.
Marge is loved and missed by her father, Joseph (Eva) Gentry; siblings, Virginia Gentry, Mary (Michael) Sullivan, and Gary (Kathy) Gentry; sister-in-law, Claudette Gentry; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and one great-great nephew. She was preceded in death by her mother, and brother, Charles Gentry.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital in Marge’s name.
