Marjorie “Marge” Kay Rinaldo, 82, passed away Friday, July 11, 2025, at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. Marge was born on August 1, 1942, to Alfred and Opal Knuth in Rockford. She attended West High School, and married her high school sweetheart Tony Rinaldo on November 15, 1961.
Marge was a true matriarch - the heart and soul of her home and beautiful inside and out. To her family, she was the best possible mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She lived her life in service of loving others and felt genuine joy in the success and happiness of those around her. She shared her love by perfecting the Rinaldo family spaghetti recipe for many family dinners, baking cookies with her kids and grandkids, sewing, and delicately scrapbooking every memory big and small. Even as the distance from family grew over the years, she stayed in touch through Facebook, Instagram, and Words with Friends on her trusty tablet. She was a witty wordsmith and lover of puns, and loved passing the time reading countless books under her favorite fleece blanket.
Marge is survived by her husband of nearly 64 years, Tony; daughters, Terri (Rich) Jenkins, Kim (Pat) Phelps, and Tracy (Jeff) Blodgett; grandchildren, Sean (Tiffany), Morgan, Danielle, and Mallory; great-grandchildren, Noah, Luca, and Ezra; brother, Gerald (Marilyn) Knuth; many nieces and nephews. She was also survived by her many plants and flowers - Tony, take care of them.
