Marlene A Hawn

Marlene A. Hawn, 74, Machesney Park passed away on Tuesday May 28, 2013 at home surrounded by her children after a courageous battle of cancer. Born in O'Kreek, S.D. on August 30, 1938 to Edna and Clarence Paulson. She graduated from the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in 1959 and married Darrel C. Hawn on June 12, 1960 in Kimball, S.D. He predeceased her on May 23, 2009.

Marlene worked as an RN at Rockford Memorial Hospital, Rockford Clinic, Northern Illinois Hospice and the Winnebago County Health Department. Marlene was a Girl Scout leader for many years and a member of Riverside Community Church, Oncology Nurses Association and the Moose Club.

She is survived by her children: Brenda (Tim) Hill, Brian Hawn, Bradley (Lori) Hawn, Birdena (Mike) Stout. Grandchildren: Steven and Ryan Hill, Troy and Amy Stout, Madison and Brayden Hawn. Brothers: Roger and Rodney (Arlene) Paulson and numerous other relatives. Marlene is predeceased by husband Darrel; mother Edna Paulson; infant sister Wanita; brothers Ivan and Delbert Paulson.

Funeral service 11a.m. Friday, May 31, 2013 at Riverside Community Church, 6816 N 2nd St, Machesney Park, IL 61115. Visitation will be held 9:30a.m. till time of service. Interment will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park. In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to Northern Illinois Hospice.
