Marvin Dean Hacker

Marvin Dean Hacker, age 87, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family. He entered into the presence of his Lord with his beloved bride of 67 years, Carol, holding his hand and his children by his side—a beautiful reflection of the love and devotion that defined his life.

A devoted man of faith, Marvin lived with quiet strength, unwavering trust in God, and a servant’s heart. He was humble, kind, and generous, always willing to lend a helping hand or offer an encouraging word. He found joy in life’s simple blessings and treasured every moment spent with his family. His life was marked by compassion, integrity, and a deep love for those around him.

Marvin is survived by his beloved bride, Carol; his children, Janae, Alan (Lisa) Hacker, Brian Hacker, and Laura (Frank) Lazarek; his sister, Ida Mae; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. His family will forever cherish the example of faith, love, humility, and generosity he left for them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Della Hacker, and his siblings, Melvin, Marilee, and Harold “Buddy” Hacker. While his family grieves his passing, they rejoice in the assurance that he has been welcomed home into the presence of his Savior and reunited with those who have gone before him.

Marvin’s gentle spirit, steadfast faith, and unconditional love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Marvin’s greatest legacy is the example of a life faithfully lived for Christ and the love he poured into his family.

A memorial service celebrating Marvin’s life will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Reformed Baptist Church in Rockford, Illinois. For those unable to attend in person, a livestream will be available through  GRBCRockford.org⁠.
