Mary A. Hopper

Mary Ann Hopper 83, of Rockford died Sunday October 1, 2016 at her home with her family by her side. She was born on August 30, 1933 to Bedford and Exie Riggs in Pocahontas AR. She married Herbert H. Hopper on October 6, 1951 in Rockford IL. Mary loved being in many organizations. She was a member of the Daughters of the Niles Alabet 31, Eastern Star #641, and the Shepard Of The Valley Church. Mary enjoyed cooking for her family her best dishes were fried chicken and chicken dumplings. Mary will be best remembered for her love of children especially her daughters and grandchildren.

Mary is survived by; daughters, Dorothy C. Mapes, Jerilynn Hopper, LaDonna Hopper-Hartman; grandchildren, Christy Green, Dawn (Todd) McGinnis, Gregory (Carrie) Hartman and Rachel Hartman; great-grandchildren, Derrick, Zachary; sister, Dorothy B. Jameson; sister-in-law, Christine Riggs, and several nieces and nephews. Mary preceded in death by; her husband, parents, and brother Bedford B. Riggs.
