Mary K. Voss Ramsey

Mary Kay Ramsey, 70, of Rockford, passed away June 7, 2015 in her home surrounded by her family. Born April 6, 1945 in Mendota; she was the daughter of Seymour and Reta L. (Cox) Voss. She married Richard E. Ramsey on October 26, 1963 in Steward.

A graduate of Rochelle Township High School, Mary was a longtime member of Windsor Baptist Church, where she served on the Social Committee. She was employed at Dough Boy’s for many years where she enjoyed serving others.

Mary loved cooking for her family, decorating cakes, collecting figurines of angels and pigs, and most of all, spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Richard E. Ramsey; sons, Rick (Cindy), Tom (Laurie), and David Ramsey; daughters, Terry (Gerald) Askins and Diane (Alan) Kent; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, William Voss; sister, Nancy Mittan; and many relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, John and Gary Voss; sister, Susan Harms.

Funeral service 11a.m. Friday, June 12th, at Windsor Baptist Church, 1115 Windsor Road, Loves Park; Pastor K. D. Bodwell officiating. Visitation one hour prior to service.
