Mary L Skogsberg

Mary L. Skogsberg, 87, of Poplar Grove, formally of Rockford, passed away peacefully in her home with her loving family by her side. Born March 24, 1933 in Rockford. Daughter of Thomas Jefferson and Laura Ella (Morgan) Guffey. United in marriage to Oscar Skogsberg on August 12, 1950 in Rockford. He predeceased her on February 19, 2001. Mary was employed with Amerock Corporation and then in 1953, along with Oscar they purchased Lincoln Bakery. Together they owned and operated the Bakery until they retired to Kirksville, Missouri. Mary returned back to Rockford after Oscar’s passing. She found enjoyment in crafting, crocheting, knitting, gardening vegetables and canning them, flower gardening, doing ceramics, going to the casino for gambling and playing bingo. Mary was part of a bowling league for many years. Above all Mary enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Survived by her children, Stan (Sherry) Skogsberg, Char (Darrell) Schmid, Cindy Kent, Jeff (Missy) Skogsberg, Laurie (Brian) Mattson, Shelley (Donnie) Scott; grandchildren, Chris (Erin) Skogsberg, Raya (Sam) Young, Stephanie (Stephen) Harris, Rebecca (Aaron) Brooks, Sarah Schmid, Jesse Kent, Josh Kent, Justina (Luke) Hartman, Megan Skogsberg, Courtney Scott, Whitney Scott, Aaron (Jennifer) Kimber; great-grandchildren, Christi, Brier, Emmalyn, Kelsey, Austin, Emma, Owen, Isabella, Abigail, Keagan, Acen, Elle’Anah, Eli, Kierstin, Lexy, Easton; great-great-grandchildren, Derek, Susie, Emily, Johnny, Helen, Olivia, Spencer, Abigail, Jordan, Lane; siblings, Darlene Reynolds, Donald Guffey; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; spouse; siblings, Dorothy, Betty, Veta, Hazel, Laura, Patricia, Nancy, Thomas, Elbie, Lowell, Earl, Alice, Carl, Mable, Pearl, Etta; great-great-grandson, Shane.
