Matthew "Matt" A. Grabbert, age 31, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Friday, September 15, 2023. He was born January 11, 1992, in Rockford, to Robert "Bob" and Lita (Hobson) Grabbert. He attended Harlem High School in Machesney Park. He was a construction worker employed as a horizontal borer.
Matt loved being with his children and spending time with his family and many friends. He spent his spare time tinkering with go-karts, mini-bikes, and motorcycles. Is his youth he played baseball, basketball, and football. He was also fond of fishing, dancing, gaming, and cheering on his Philadelphia Eagles.
Matt is survived by his parents; his wife, Danielle (née Campisi); his children Levi, Bailey, Riley, and Cameron; sister, Danielle (Trevor) Schunck; maternal grandmothers, Karen Ford and Margaret Hobson; nieces, Raegan and Amelia; nephew, Lincoln. He is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Jack and Virginia Grabbert; his Aunt Leia (Ross) Larsen; and maternal grandfathers, Bruce Hobson and Martin Ford.
A visitation for Matthew will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM at Life Church, 5910 Elevator Road, Roscoe, Illinois 61073, followed by a funeral at 11:00 AM.
Matthew will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Gardens, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park, IL 61115-2277.
