Michael G. Callihan, age 84, of Rockton, Illinois passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026. He was born September 23, 1941 to Raymond Callihan and Almeta Grazioli in Rockford, Illinois. Michael was very proud of his service in the Navy. He worked for many years at a machine shop before he retired to work at his favorite golf course, Ledges in Roscoe. He enjoyed spending time with his buddies golfing in his retirement.
Michael is survived by his wife, Melinda Callihan; brother, Gregory (Patty) Grazioli; nephew and godson, Kyle Grazioli; niece, Robin (Steve) Schroeder; sister-in-law, Jonnie (John) Carroll; along with numerous family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond (Taffy) Callihan and Almeta (Joseph) Grazioli; siblings, Rae Anne Oberg, Bruce Callihan, and Chuck Tunkus; and in-laws, Jack and Maxine Mellon.
A visitation for Michael will be held on Friday, January 16 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N Alpine Rd. Machesney Park, IL 61115. With a service to follow at 2:00 pm. Military honors and burial rites to follow.
