

Michael Allen Marx, 54, of Rockford, IL passed away suddenly on July 23, 2022. Born on March 21, 1968 to James and Judy Marx. Michael was a deeply devoted father, son, brother, and a friend to everyone he met. He followed in his father’s footsteps, leaving his own imprints. He worked at his family owned business, Form Relief Tool Co. Michael was a die-hard Steelers fan, and lived by the words “It aint about how hard you’re hit, it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.” He was the proud father to Dustin Marx. Dustin’s Mother, Kim Ayling (Lee), was Michael’s closest friend who could always make him laugh. He enjoyed cooking and playing a game of chess with his friends or family. His strength and determination were sources of encouragement for those he loved, and proved that even the toughest obstacles can be overcome.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his son Dustin Marx, mother; Judy Marx, sister; Tamara Marx, grandson Izayah Marx, niece; Rachel (Abel) Lopez, nephew; Jared (Grace) Hemenway, and great nieces Evelyn Lopez and Camille Lopez. He is also survived by numerous friends and extended family members whom he loved dearly.
He is welcomed into heaven by his father; James Marx.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Michael can be made to the Rockford Rescue Mission.
A funeral is scheduled for Thursday, August 4th at 2pm at Sunset Funeral Home. Located at 8800 N. Alpine Rd. Machesney Park IL 61115. A visitation will take place at 1pm until the time of service. Burial to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
