Mona was born on September 2, 1930 in Dalton, GA, the daughter of Lester and Etta Lois Napier. Mona was a dedicated member of Gateway Community Church of the Nazarene/Parkside. Mona was very active in the church; she served on the board, Sunday School Teacher, Prayer Warrior and was head of the ladies funeral luncheons.
Mona is survived by her daughters: Cheryl Downs and Linda LaSalla; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mona was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son and two brothers.
A visitation to celebrate Mona’s life will be Thursday August 4, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road in Machesney Park. Graveside service will be 11:00 am Friday August 5, 2016 at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
