Ned is survived by the love of his life for 63 years, Catherine “Kay” Kirk; children, Tammy Bolling, Delores and Ned Kirk III and Teresa and Eric Nelson; grandchildren, Evan Bolling, Ned the 4th, Nicole and Justin Kirk, Brandon and Brice Nelson; 7 great-grandchildren. Ned was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Lessa Ann Lombardozzi and Irene Florence Eisen.
Ned passed away in his favorite place: HOME. He has a medal from when he was a boy scout and saved a boy’s life from drowning in Kent Creek. He was an altar boy at Saint Patrick Methodist Church in Rockford. Ned was a cub scout leader and a girl scout driver/helper. He worked at Atwood Heat Treat for 33 years. Ned was very protective of all of the family members including in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was a 2 squirrel hunter that he never got to eat, lol. Ned enjoyed camping, hanging out at the dumps in upper Wisconsin, watching and waiting for the wildlife and bears to come eat. He was an avid fisherman. We remember a lot of hikes, lost in the woods of Boulder Junction, WI. We often look back and wonder how we never got eaten by bears. Dad always said we just had to run faster than grandma, if we came across a hungry animal.
